LACING:
Shoes should always be fully but loosely laced. Unlaced shoes may allow the foot to slip to the toe, giving an incorrect impression of fit.

RESTRICTIVE FOOT ENTRY:
Bellows tongues and Oxford Cuts can sometimes feel a little restrictive when new. This is a normal feature which generally disappears in wear. Ensure that the laces are not too tight and that the bellows tongue has not slipped inwards with your foot as you put the shoe on. Standing up in the shoe will always give you the best assessment of fit. With the shoe fully but not tightly laced, flex it with weight applied. Make sure at this point that there is suficient room for toe movement without any slip at the heel.

BELLOWS TONGUE PROTECTION

The lace opening is an important entry point for water in any shoe. The bellows tongue assembly provides a secure barrier against unwanted penetration.
GIBSON CUT

Allowing slightly easier access to the shoe than the Oxford Cut, the Gibson Cut makes full use of the bellows tongue device for waterproofing protection.
OXFORD CUT

The Oxford Cut derives from a close fitting at the foot opening to minimise water entry through the lace assembly.
